about

Written for a dance production by Andrea Buckley.
The theme of the show was the sea. We rehearsed and devised the piece in Lancaster and Lytham, staring out to sea as we did so (sometimes). The Bay was inspired by the idea of being in a boat at dawn, with eerie sounds of horns and weird things that might be some form of psychedelic reptile with the bay shrouded in mist. Gradually the mist clears and the sun shines. Yipee!
Musically, the piece is based on a Flamenco 'Columbiana' but in the opening section deliberately messes with the form and rhythm.
