about

These pieces were made in response to a request for music to accompany a video by June Gersten Roberts. The video, which is ongoing at the time of this release, is of a beautiful country garden on the North Lancashire/Yorkshire border.
I had previously been involved in a garden themed project in the 1990's with the performance artist Ernst Fischer - a multi-disciplinary work called 'Virtual Garden'. The garden in this work was an imaginary, virtual garden created digitally. Ironically the entire work - music, dance, sets and costumes, dialogue, was entirely analogue; there were no digital, virtual elements used.
For the video of an actual garden I have largely used digital means. This is a departure for me as I usually work with real acoustic instruments. I found the change of medium was extremely liberating and stimulating. I hope you enjoy the results
